JOURNAL 4


First, I taught to second grade the numbers from 1 to 10 through a song that were repeating at the same time that they heard the song. I think that it was good because in the lyric of the song there was the sequence of the numbers and they learn it quickly.
Second, in fourth grade we saw personality adjectives. So, I taught the topic through flashcards, and then I wrote the name of each one on the board. Also, I used slides with images of each adjective without the name to see if they could identify them for instance: happy, lazy …., and the outcome was good because they were attentive.
Finally, I think that what I have to improve is to look for more activities to carry on catching their motivation and motivation, since in my perception I think that they will get bored of the same activities.

JOURNAL 3


During this week, I was working with some songs to learn vocabulary, and also I made an interesting activity with second grade, in which they could identify the fruits. The activity consisted in preparing a salad fruit, so the previous class they were assigned to bring for the class some strawberries, bananas and grapes. Finally I asked them to show me their bananas, strawberries, to see if they were able to identify the fruit, and the result was good. Also, I told them the instructions to prepare the salad in English, using body language.
On the other hand, I saw a good behavior in first grade, something that surprised me because they always dismibehave. What I worked with them was a song about family that they liked, they were repeating the song. Also, they wrote the correct name of each member of the family according to the picture in a handout that I delivered them.
Finally, I think that it was good week. I think that what I have to improve is to look for strategies to control the discipline in first grade due to the fact that my tone of voice which does not help me, when they start to scream. I have to raise my voice, which is a good effort since at the end I get exhausted.  

JOURNAL 2


During this week, I can say that I had rewarding experiences with my students.
First of all, in second grade I taught the fruits and vegetables through flashcards, and then I made my students write down the lyrics of a song about the fruits and vegetables in their notebooks, and the result was good because they learnt quickly the song. Also, while the children were singing, I realized of some mistakes that they made and immediately I corrected them.
Second of all, in first grade I taught the family members through an animated video, which in my perception was effective since after that, I started to ask about their family members and they answered well.
Finally, I think that something that I need to get used to the cooperator of second grade, because she is too strict with the students and I do not like the way that she treats them. Hence, the way that she teaches is very traditional and boring.

JOURNAL 1


This is my first practicum and I have many expectations. At the beginning I felt a little nervous because before I hadn’t had an opportunity to give a class, however it wasn’t bad.
First, I was with 4 graders, which were very attentive participating in the activity that I planned for the class about fruits and vegetables. In the activity them the fruits and vegetables through flashcards, then they had to play a game that is called “stop, stop”, and the person that was chosen to pass in front the class, had to pick up a picture of the board and wrote down if it was a fruit or vegetable and its name. In my perception, working with 4 graders is very nice since they learn quickly, they are very attentive, and they are committed with their duties at home, like doing the homeworks assigned for home and studying the topic at home.
On the other hand, I was teaching to second and first grade, but I had troubles with first grade since the misbehaved. It was difficult for me to talk them, because they were talkative and also they were asking many things to me at the same time, and I had to talk louder. As aconsequence, at the end of the class I was with no voice.    
I expect to improve my teaching, carry on with activities that always motivate my students to learn English .Also to adapt to the school, teachers and students.

SEVENTH TASK




My visual teaching  metaphor is about the impacts that a teacher can make in their students.
First I drew some cactus that are growing and getting green when the teacher puts water on them, because we as teachers have to be someone who helps them to solve the problems and situations that they face during their learning process, taking into account that there are two types of problems:
 1. Difficulties , and also fears that they have to overcome  in class.
 2.Problems at home, that affect their way of behaving , or their attitude in class.

Then , I drew a tool which is meaningful for us which is RESEARCH.It helps us to analize whatever situation that there is in class,also through research we can look for authors that talk about the phenomenon and the possible solutions to the problem.Also, in the picture there is a heart and ears which means that sometimes we have to understand our students and listen their opinions.

Finally, the result is that students are attentive, happy and enjoying their class .
SIXTH TASK

BELIEFS ABOUT ENGLISH: Most of people think that it is compulsory or that they are forced to learn English, because this is an universal language.

BELIEFS ABOUT LEARNING: Is the process , where students are guided for teachers to get knowledge about the issues that around them.Also, learning that we make everyday through our experiences life's experiences.

BELIEFS ABOUT TEACHING: I think that it is a process ,where the teacher should use the best methods to facilitate learning to his/her pupils.

BELIEFS ABOUT TEACHING AS A PROFESSION: I think that it is important to work with love to our students, because we do not like our job, they will pay the consequences , for instance :   student's necessities are not attended.
FIFTH TASK

DIRECTIONS: Watch the video "Shaping the way we teach English -Reflective Teaching  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKVTh6HG-T4)," and give an account of the characteristics of the participating teachers´ reflective practices. 


Based on the video, I could notice that teachers employed different methods,for example, one of them worked with songs to teach their students,another made them work in groups. Also, I could see that they always reflected about the way that they taught, for instance : most of them asked themselves, if the strategies that they used made were effective, and if the students fullfilled with their expectations.
